A one horse open sleigh, c. 1850, used at the Kent furnace. This type of sleigh is also known as a Cutter, a lightweight, open, horse drawn sleigh that usually had a single seat that held two people. This sleigh has a second, drop down front seat enabling two additional passengers. This type of sleigh was introduced around 1800 in the United States.
