Hook, Pot

18th century (Date manufactured/created)
Wrought iron
Pothooks were used to suspend pots, skillets, and kettles over the fire. The ā€˜Sā€™ shape allowed several hooks to be linked, bringing the pots closer to the fire and raising the temperature for cooking. This pair of hooks was probably made in Guilford and was purchased from the estate of Thomas Hart Landon, Jr. (1871-1944).
