Photograph - Mrs. Samuel Chittenden

1787 – 1811
High quality, matted, black and white photos of original oil portraits 7 1/8" x 9 3/8", mounted to 8" x 10" Presumed to be collected for a c.1950 MHS exhibit.
Mrs. Chittenden is shown in profile looking forward with a pleasant look on her face. Her hair is pulled back into a bun with some kind of hair ornament just above it. She has bangs which curl just in front of the head towards the face. She wears a grey dress with a slight collar, pleated shoulders, and a frilly white collar underneath. The white collar appears to be part of a white underdress or buttoning area down the front which also contains lace.
