Ash Maple Rush Seat
Baluster back chair made of ash and maple, c.1750-1780, US origin. Chair has a rush seat, three balusters and scalloped crest rail. Posts have elongated baluster turnings over short baluster separated by a ring. Ring turnings on the front legs. The double stretchers have turnings on the front; sides are plain. Only one stretcher on rear. 42 1/2" tall, 19 1/2" wide.
