Cut out segment from a larger topographtical map from the 1850's, showing only Guilford & Madison.  Also shows major roads, the railroad (established in 1848) and houses labeled with owners' names.  Includes the CM Minor shipyard (sold in 1883), the fish oil works, beach hotels including Sachem's Head in Guilford, Printed oilcloth, cut along northern, eastern and western town borders and then straight through a portion of Long Island Sound.  Brown with red and green municipal borders.  Good general condition, some de-lamination.  17" x 13 1/2" at widest dimension.
