Tintype image of an engraving of Maj. General Geo. B. McClellen, looking to his left wearing a uniform with epaulettes. Shown in elaborately carved wooden case. Image appears mass produced. Removable tintype is framed in copper, with printed card, "Maj. General Geo. B. McClellen - Abbot & Co.143 Nassau St. N.Y.". Someone has handwritten "Poor Stick" across label. Stained black case and lined with brown velvet. Case has label beneath image, "Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Sole Manufacturers of UNION CASES with Embracing Rivited Hinge. Patented Oct. 14, 1856 & April 21, 1857."
