Oldest known grave marker in Madison, Connecticut, removed to inside the museum from the West Cemetery to help preserve it.
It is inscribed, "Samual Son of Mr. John & Mrs. Mary French was born 1682 and died 1688 and he was ye first corps {sic} buried here". Curved top and has chiseled trim.
