This newspaper page was reproduced during a wave of patriotism across the country, and was not meant to purposely deceive.
It reprints descriptions of Washington’s Inauguration, comments by statesmen, and includes an anachronistic engraving of Washington (newspaper engravings did not exist that early). Back has numerous news stories and commentary.
