Ice/Snow Skates, wooden

1930s (Date manufactured/created)
Wood, Leather, Rubber
Snow skates look very much like ordinary ice skates. They have been made completely from wood and have a hollow bent metal strip on the bottom to skate on ice.  Leather thongs woven through holes in wooden blade fasten toes and heels; double holes in rear allow size to be adjusted; shoe plate has groves in rubber pad to prevent slipping. On one side of the front of one of the skates is a manufacturer label, which says, "Falcon / Buddy Snow Skate / Registered / Patent Applied For" in the gold-colored center and "American Mfg. Concern / Falconer, New York. U.S.A." along the outer red border.  L: 11 1/2", W: 2 3/8", D: 3 3/4".
