Singer Puzzle Box

Oak fold-out box containing sewing machine accessories/attachments and made by Singer. Top of box has an imprinted label with the text, "Patented 1889 February 19". Shape of box is a rectangular prism, and the two smaller faces are square with four congruent triangles meeting at a point in the center. At the top of one of the longer faces, right beneath the lid is an indent in the wood, which allows the user to press up on the lid and open the box to have four equally sized compartments laying flat and adjacent to one another along their lengths, each with a triangle standing vertically on both sides. The sections laying flat are all lined with green velvet, and they contain a variety of metal tools and holders, some of which are labeled with numbers or have the Singer U.S.A. logo. 6 1/2" x 3 3/8" x 3 3/8".
