+Crooked back (aka: angled back); great chair (aka: arm chair). Such style believed to reflect customer choices about style and connection to larger world and refining his/her world rather thanbeing a transition from older to newer style. +Made with features considered 'old fashioned' for its period (high back, type of carved foot, the flag/rush seat, and the turned stretchers between all four legs. +Barrel-shape turning suggests Dutch influence of NY cabinetmakers +arched crest rail and "crooked" back and shaped / turned-out arm rests reflect more modern style of latter half 18th C. +turned front stretcher is character of Woodbury stretchers; arrow-shaped turnings at ends, separated from thick balusters by sharp turnings and three-ribbed central disk. +flags/rush used in seat reflect older tradition of agrarian economy.
