Fairfield Museum
Andrew Frank Daniels, who died in 1982 (Ca. 1911-1982.), was a member of the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee, the Fairfield Board of Zoning Appeals, and was a sub-district director of the United Steelworkers Union. His activities with the Democratic Town Committee coincided with the tenure of First Selectman John Sullivan. The bulk of his collection, which was donated by his estate in 1982, is at the Bridgeport Public Library in the Historical Collections.
The collection consists of political papers, dated 1956-1972, collected by Daniels while he was a member of the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee. These documents consist of Fairfield Democratic Party rules, open letters to and from the Democratic Town Committee; broadsides; campaign materials, including bumper stickers, broadsides and flyers; sample ballots; John J. Sullivan's "state of the town" reports; and programs for dinners and other activities sponsored by the Committee. The materials are arranged first by type and then chronologically, where possible.
