John Taylor Arms (1887-1953) was born in Washington D.C., went to Princeton and graduated from M.I.T. in 1911. He worked in an architectural firm in N.Y. for five years before starting his own firm with Cameron Clark of Fairfield, CT. He made his first etching in 1913 and became a well known and prolific printer maker residing in Fairfield with his wife Dorothy Noyes for 35 years.

This collection belonged to the late Father William Dolan Fletcher who lived in Southport, CT. The material herein was to have been thrown away but instead was brought to the Fairfield Historical Society by David Parker of Southport, CT. Father Fletcher made an in depth study of John Taylor Arms and his works. For further detail see Table of Contents.
