William Brown Glover was the son of Samuel and Emily Glover. (Samuel had been the judge of probate in Fairfield). He graduated from Yale in 1878 and from Columbia Law in 1880, and started practicing law in Connecticut in 1881. The following year he was elected as probate judge, a position he held until his death. He served in the legislature in 1883 and was re-elected in 1889; he was chairman of the judiciary committee and speaker pro tem. He married Helen Wardwell in 1884 and was active in St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
This collection consists of 33 boxes. Boxes 1-30 hold William B. Glover's papers, and Boxes 31 and 32 hold the papers of his son Samuel Glover. Box I through XIII contain letters to/from William B. Glover; Box XII diaries and Boxes XV through XI financial and legal papers. Boxes XXII through XXVII contain law suits and probate papers. Boxes XVIII through XXX contain Misc. papers as listed and Boxes XXXI and XXXII papers of Samuel Glover.
