The first members of the Seeley family settled in the Fairfield area in the late 1600s. The papers in this collection belonged to family members who lived in Fairfield and surrounding towns including Easton and Weston. They include farmers, a school teacher, a military officer, a postmaster, and politicians.
Papers from the Seeley family of Fairfield, CT and nearby Weston and Easton. Consists mostly of deeds, writs, and probate papers. Account books and Yale College material are also in the collection.
This collection consists of one box and three oversize items. Folder A in Box 1 contains deeds, Folder B holds Yale College material and Folder C has legal and financial papers, certificates and correspondence. An account book of the Weston Turnpike can be found in Folder D. Oversize Item A is an account book, Item B an estate map and Item C a postmaster's commission.
