He had one child, Raymond Peter Donnelly who was killed in action serving his country during the Vietnam War.
The Westport Works Progress Administration Collection (“WPA Collection”) was created under the federal art programs of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal economic recovery plans of the 1930s and 1940s. It includes murals and other artwork commissioned for municipal and school buildings. Today, the Town of Westport is the steward of these federally owned works, most of which have been restored and remain on public view.;The Raymond Donnelly World War II Scrapbook Collection is composed of one scrapbook that Donnelly created in 1946. The scrapbook contains photographs that document the aftermath of World War II in Europe. Donnelly also included a list identifying some of the photographs.

The scrapbook is disassembled and contains 31 sheets, or 62 pages, with photographs on each page. Each page is 10 inches long and 13 inches wide. The photographs vary in size, but most are 4x5 inches. All photographs are in black and white. Some photographs are attached to the scrapbook with black corner, and some with tape. While the scrapbook is generally in good condition, users should exercise care.
