Edith DeForest compiled this information about her DeForest family line over the course of many years. She currently (1999) resides in Chester, Connecticut.
The collection consists of copies of birth, marriage and death certificates obtained or hand copied from records in town clerks offices in Connecticut, along with copies or obituaries, military records, newspaper articles, and original photographs of headstones related to the families of George W., William Clark, and Sylvester DeForest of Ridgefield, Conn. Most of the materials are arranged in a set of four three-ring binders. The original sheet protectors and black paper backings were removed and replaced with archival sheet protectors. The military records are organized in five folders, namely records of Sylvester, Henry, Daniel DeForest and Isaac Bragdon; and one each for Samuel C. DeForest, Samuel E. DeForest, William H. DeForest, and Daniel R.P. Gilbert.
