Ann Tolson lived in Westport briefly in the 1990s. Like other artists, she was drawn to the bold geometry of the Compo Beach public showers with its distinctive brick arched lintels and to the silhouettes of the bathers inside. The flattened forms, simplified detail and bright colors seen are hallmarks of Tolson’s style.
