Theodore Hatcher

1919 – 2006
Theodore "Ted" Hatcher was born in 1919 in the city of Waterbury. He served in the army during WWWII and after returning home he secured a job at Scovill Manufacturing. However, after the war ended he was let go and found a job working for the state of Connecticut in the unemployment division. He worked his way up to being Executive director of employment security division of labor department. He was very active in the community. In 1998 Ted gave an oral history interview for the Mattatuck Museum's African American Oral History Project.
