Curatorial Description
Original printed commissioning form naming Dan Platts 2nd (1738-1826) an Ensign in the Connecticut State Militia per order of Samuel Huntington, dated 5/17/1793, framed under glass.  Embossed official seal is included.  Samuel was a signer of the Declaration of Independence (see <a href="https://flic.kr/p/21opYe2" rel="noreferrer nofollow">flic.kr/p/21opYe2</a>); Dan served in the New London area.
On the back of the frame is inscribed the Platt family lineage.
