Flower garden pattern hand stitched patchwork quilt in hexagonal pattern with gold border. Stuffed and backed. According to note on quilt: "Many of the pieces of quilt were snatched from a burning store at the time of the great water front fire in Providence, R. I., when 37 buildings were burned on Jan. 1, 1801. No American calico is used on the outside of quilt - all imported." 75" square
