High quality, matted, black and white photos of original oil portraits 7 1/8" x 9 3/8", mounted to 8" x 10" Presumed to be collected for a c.1950 MHS exhibit. 
Info on back:
Father of Jennette A. Scranton; grandfather of Mrs. Susan Whedon of New Haven 1860 - 1945.
Mrs. Susan Whedon gave portraits of her grandchildren, also 40 pieces of silver, and 203 pieces of fine china. 
Thomas Scranton looks directly at the viewer with his head angled slightly to the left. He has a serious expression on his face and wrinkles who due to his old age. His hair is grey (?) and thinning on top of his head. He wears a black tie and suit with a white undershirt. It appears to be pleated and ironed stiff. His left hand holds a pair of glasses (?) near the bottom of the frame.
