Curatorial Description
Three piece silk and satin dress striped with bands of colored flowers.  French, c.1855 by Compagnie Lyonnaise.  Fitted bodice with corseted back, pleats from shoulders forming lace trimmed "V" neck and point at front center.  Sleeves are short and puffed and studded with pearls.  The skirt has 9" broad lace along the hem, and fullness gathered towards the back forming a long train.  Belt is satin with braided ribbon trim and pearl studs. Bodice is 11 1/2".  Skirt is 40" in front.  The belt is 26". Overall excellent condition; some staining in front.
