H. Lee Scranton's advertisement for two local hotels: Sachem's Head (Guilford) and Tontine Hotel (New Haven), both long gone.  Sachem's Head burned down on 6/14/1865 and the Tontine is now the site of the Federal Courthouse. The ink on paper 1860 ad describes pastimes and travel directions and includes engravings of both hotels signed "Engraved on wood, J.W. Orr, NY".  Donated Mary Scranton Evarts (Mrs. Cyrus).  Framed under glass,  H: 9 1/4" W: 15 7/8" sight; H: 10 3/4 W: 17 1/2" in frame.
