Half of a pair of engraved paintings named "War and Peace" This chicken is the Peace one. Engraved by Charles Yardley Turner (1850-1918) and painted on paper over wood by Benjamin Marshall, c.1900. The painting has a dark background; the chicken has a white head and long neck. Its body is brown with white near the tail; its large tail is blue. The chicken's head is turned away in profile showing one yellow eye and a black beak.
