This document was signed by Mary Belden discharging her brother Rev. David Belden from a financial responsibility following the settling of the estate of their father, Azor Belden.
The document reads: "Know all men by these presents that I Mary Belden 2nd of Norwalk in Fairfield County, eldest daughter of Azor Belden late of said Norwalk...have this day received of my loving brother David Belden executor of the last will & testament of my Hon. Father Azor Belden...the sum of Sixty Pounds sixteen shillings lawful money to my full satisfaction of bequests devises, gifts, or legacies that are or were last given or devised to me by my Hon. Father either by his last will and testament or otherwise. And in consideration thereof, I do hereby discharge him, the said David Belden from all demands I have against him ov (sic) that I may or can have as Heir, Devisce, or...of the said deceased. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of June AD 1795."
