Photograph of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church c. 1870. The church pictured here was actually the second St. Matthew's, the first being a wooden structure originally completed in 1810. In 1862, construction started on a new stone structure, which was completed in 1863. In 1967, St. Matthew's decided to move to a new location on New Canaan Road, and the stone building was sold to the Wilton Baptist Church in 1971.
