Longtime Wilton resident Dave Brubeck was a pianist, composer and one of the most influential jazz musicians in American history. His 1959 album Time Out was the first jazz record to sell more than a million copies. Known for unusual time signatures, contrasting rhythms and tonalities, Brubeck was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.
