Founded in Plymouth, CT by Edward Ives, the Ives Manufacturing Company began producing a wide range of toys in 1868. By the late 19th Century, much of the emphasis of the company shifted toward model trains powered by clockwork. Ives started creating electric trains in 1901, and continued to do so until the 1932, with many of the trains built in Bridgeport, CT.
