Fairfield organized a full-fledged police department in 1930, replacing a system of constables. Pictured here at 633 Post Road are the members of the initial police force: Christian Shick, Eugene Burns, Thomas Shaughnessy, Chief Arthur Bennett, Charles Gandorf, Tom Murphy, and Bill Burr.
