Large colored print incorporated into part of a poster recognizing the "125th Commemoration of the First Battle of the Ironclads" produced by the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary (part of the NOAA) in 1987.  The print is titled "Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack (C.S.S. Virginia)" by Carl G. Evers (1907-2000), a renowned seascape artist.  Print, surrounded by a green mat, depicts a dramatic battle scene between the two ironclads.  Caption includes a quote by the Monitor's surgeon, Glenville Weeks.  Thin metal frame under glass, 26 1/8" x 25 1/8"
