Ida Miller (Edwin Randolph’s sister-in-law) also moved from Virginia to Fairfield after the Civil War and eventually owned land and a home on the east side of Round Hill Road, in the same block south of Barlow Road where the Randolphs lived. Her style of dress suggests that the family enjoyed a comfortable standard of living.
