black and white
Two bust-length portraits of a man and woman, Thaddeus and Eunice Dennie Burr, the husband and wife are wearing nice clothes and look to have their pulled back. Mr. Burr is wearing a cravat, waistcoat, and coat. Mrs. Burr is wearing a gown with possibly lace trimming to cover her neckline. "Thaddeus Burr, a cousin of Aaron Burr, owned the Burr Homestead on the Old Post Road. Thaddeus served as Fairfield's deputy to the General Court and as a member of the Council of Safety during the Revolutionary War. His home was described as "the center of vigorous patriotic propaganda for the Independence of the Colonies." This information was found in Images of America Fairfield Connecticut by Barbara Austen and Barbara Bryan.
