Portable haemometer instrument for measuring some quality of blood (as hemoglobin content). Small rectangular box with a red coating. Gold imprinted logo and text ("Solid Plane Field Haemometer") centered on lid. Logo is made of a hexagon outside of an almost-circle shape outside of an "H" and contains the text, "New York / Hellige / Inc." Has two small gold-colored, detailed latches. Inside of the lid is a blue ribbon material covering a cushion-like substance. On the blue material is a gold arrow pointing upward at the top, above the text, "For directions lift here" and "Accurate results are guaranteed only if the haemometer is used with Hellige glassware, which is identified by this name on each tube and pipette. In ordering replacement parts, insist on the genuine Hellige product." The last sentence is underlined. There is a small ribbon at the top of the cushion which, when pulled, reveals folded instruction papers. In the base are a few compartments lined with blue velvet with a black plastic device that has the company's logos. There is also a glass vial with plastic cap, glass measurement tube, and glass stirring rod. Box is 6 1/4" x 3 3/4" x 2".
