A group photo depicting a "Picnic of Madison Grange no 120, held in Willards Grove at the Beach" as inscribed on the back. The photo is mounted on card with rounded edges. It depicts a large party of people organized in 4 rough registers, some seated and some standing. The children sit on the ground in the front. The men wear suits and the women wear suits, shirtwaists, or day dresses. Many are wearing boater hats.
Title "Days of Real Sport" on small piece of paper pasted to front.
Inscribed "Property of Mrs. D. Chittenden" on reverse, accompanied by list of names taped on. The photographer's name is stamped on the reverse. Though it is incomplete, it compares with one of H.B. Hunter's makers marks.
