Plaque commemorating the 121st birthday of Capt John Ericsson

4" x 3" x 1/8" bronze hump-back bronze plaque commemorating the 121st birthday of Capt John Ericsson designer of the USS Monitor and a renowned engineer of the period.  The front of the plaque is a miniature of the large plaque (produced by the American Scenic and Historic Preservation Soc) installed on Ericsson's 95 Franklin St, NYC house where he resided from 1844 - 1864.
The back of the plaque has 4 semicircular feet ` 1/4" tall and is embossed noting it was made "under the auspices of the National Museum of Engineering and Industry associated with the Smithsonian Institution Washington DC Compliments of Great American Insurance Company New York"
The front has portraits along top of Winslow, Griswold, and C.S. Bushnell--the 3 principals involved in the contract and building of the USS Monitor, which appears on the center of the plaque.This small plaque was given out as an advertising premium by the Great American Insurance Co of New York.
