Cream glaze, pink luster decoration around tim and down handle; black printed ships decoration "The Enterprise and The Boxer" on front and rear. -- The print commemorates the War of 1812 battle between the American brig 'The Enterprize', under the command of Lieutenant William Barrows, and the British man-of-war 'Boxer', under the command of Captain Samuel Blyth. The battle took place off the shore near Penguin Point, Maine and was won by 'The Enterprize'. (Klamkin, 1973).
