cream glaze; black printed transferware. on obverse pofile of George Washington with text "He In Glory", "le man without example, ma patriot without reproach". on reverse urn marked "G.W." and tribute to Washington. PROVENANCE: Purchased by James Terry March 28, 1889 from D Bartlett of Newburyport who purchased it from the family of Edmund Swett whoe name is under the nose of pitcher. Edmund is from Newburyport, MA.
