 America and Independence-themed scene front; "Clews Warranted Staffordshire" with crown makers-mark rear.  19th Century Staffordshire Saucer. James and Ralph Clews rented the Cobridge Works in Staffordshire from William Adams in 1815. Their partnership continued until 1834. The individual views of the America and Independence series are usually given descriptive names.
