Red curtain background left and large bouquet red flowers on table right.  Katherine Kendrick (1827-?) was the daughter of Green and Anna Maria Leavenworth Kendrick.  Her sister Martha was born in 1829. Katherine married Frederick Gridley Wheeler and moved to Stamford, CT in 1849. Martha never married and lived with her father. Her brother John lived next door in what would later become the first home of the Mattatuck Museum.
