Chaplin is an oil painter and educator from Connecticut. He studied at Yale Univ School of Art and received his Bachelors and Masters in Fine Art with Josef Albers. He was the head of hte painting department at Silvermine COllege of Art from 1965 to 1971. He was also the director of studio programs at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, after 1972. His work is held by Yale Univ Art Gallery and the New York State Univ, Cortland.
