Insurance Maps of Waterbury, Connecticut. Bound in boards covered with cloth with a leather label affixed to front board having "Waterbury Connecticut" stamped in gold tone on label. Spine and corners leather-covered and deteriorating. Pasted to front end page are 'new indexes' (corrections). Corrections range from 1905 to 1918. Full title is "Insurance Maps of Waterbury, Connecticut, New Haven Co., Published by Sannorn-Perris Map Co, 1901, 11 Broadway, New York, Copyright 1901 by the Sanborn-Perris Map Co., Limited". Title page contains an index ot streets and alphabetical listing of businesses and organizations. Maps are hand-colored and drawn to scale of 50 ft to 1 inch. Depict selected blocks with shape, dimensions, and construction material of every building in a block. Colors correspond to construction material: iron, brick, frame. Additional codes are provided in key. Important buildings (churches, schools, manufacturing, etc) are id'd. Other information is provided like water facilities, fire deptartments, and population.
