Ehrkich brings the brush and the blowtorch together to create works that feature the vitality of action and abstract expressionism. His large abstractions are vividly colored, lushly textured works that incorporate oil paint, enamel, wax, marble dust, and varnish. These are fused in a glazing process that priduces enamel-like srfaces which allow the artist's densely layered paint manipulations to show through. Ehrlich's subject matter is elusive though subjects as varied as horses and figures may emerge from the complex background.
