Provenance: Museum Purchase, 2019; previous: Art Atlanta, Hammond House Museum annual auction; private collection, Georgia. "Slow Time" is a part of a significant body of 1980s wok by Amos depicting African-American women in bathing suits or swimming. Printed at the studio of Kathy Caraccio, Amos' monotypes use similar collage elements and mixed media as found in her paintings on fabric. Other works in this series include the etchings "Sand Ten", 1980, and "To Sit", 1981, and the painting "Arched Swimmer", 1987.
