24mo (112 x 80mm), pp. 128. Bound in original publisher's red cloth stamped in blind, spine lettered gilt. Early ink gift inscription to front free endpaper.

A nice example of Victorian gift-giving: this book was gifted early in its life from a teacher to her student, as evidenced by the inscription on the front free endpaper: "Charles L. Hinman from his teacher. Lottie A. Barnard." Pocket-sized and sweet, it was hopefully cherished by young Charles. The printing appears to be stereotyping.
