Helen Johnson gave an oral history interview with Jeremy Brecher on May 21, 1981 for the Brass Worker's History Project. A partial transcript is available.  Helen Johnson came to Connecticut from Vermont in the 1930s seeking work. She worked in several factories including Benrus, Mattatuck, and Scovill's. She was an active union organizer. She describes the Mine Mill's alleged communist domination and her role in combating it. After retirement she continued to be an activist, working with Connecticut Citizens Action group. The original cassette tape broke during copying, so only side 1 was able to be digitized.
