Frieda Ewen gave an oral history interview with Jan Stackhouse on July 1, 1981. A partial transcript is available. Frieda Ewen was a social activist in Shelton, CT. She had worked for various citizens' action groups and tenants' unions. At the age of 22 she was divorced with 2 children. Both from her own life experience and her work she has detailed knowledge of what it's like being poor in the Naugatuck Valley region. The original interview was on 3 cassette tapes - the first tape broke. Only tapes 2 and 3 were digitized.
