Peter and Frances Marcuse gave an oral history interview conducted by Jeremy Brecher on May 27, 1981 for the Brass Worker's History Project. A partial transcript is available upon request. Peter Marcuse was an attorney and Frances who was married to Peter, was a teacher. They came to Waterbury in 1952 when Peter joined Driscoll's law firm. In the late 1950s and 1960s he was active in political and civil rights movements. He served on the Board of Aldermen and as an organizer of NOW (New Opportunities for Waterbury). The interview covers many aspects of political, social and economic scene of Waterbury as well as racial relationships.
