This copy comes accompanied by an original advertisement card for this title. Collection of published poems by Madison's Grace Elizabeth Miner Lippincott. Inscribed in 1940 on the first page by the author: "May you find the healing breath of New England within this little book of simple verse / Grace Miner Lippincott . Madison Conn 1940". On the title page is a line drawing by Mary Scranton Evarts. Inside the book is an advertisement card for the book. Grace's work includes many direct references to local life. This includes "Boston Street in Midwinter" (pg 32), "Madison by the Sea" (pg 37), "Cedars at Middle Beach" (pg 38), and "Lay of Old Tuxis" (pg 41).Grace Miner Lippincott was a prolific and renowned poet with six published books, more than 1100 published poems, and ten anthologies. Born in Cornwall, Connecticut, Grace graduated from Madison High School in 1895 and was married to Philadelphia native Levi Lippincott a year later.
