Ink gift inscription to front free endpaper ("Dillingham Palmer Christmas 1914") and bookplate of same individual to upper pastedown.
A delightful book marketed towards families with young children which aims to inspire young people to develop an interest in nature and science. Of note are the beautifully illustrated plates. A good example of a children's book encouraging scientific enquiry in the early twentieth century.
